I was born and raised on a beautiful farm on the shores of the Ottawa river near the small hamlet of Clarence about twenty miles east of Ottawa Ontario.I graduated from high school as most kids did back then,attended Kemptville College of Agricultural Technology for two years and, at that point giving up farming as a not too profitable venture, went to Toronto at age 19 to seek my fortune. I worked for several years as a communications technition for Bell Canada and then moved back to the Madoc area to start my own business doing custom cabinet work and designing and building portable band saw mills. I retired early from all that thirteen years ago at age 52, and although I still do some custom sawing and woodlot management and a few renovations, my formost and long awaited interest in life is travel and photography, not to mention heading the ongoing restoration of the old water powered Mill at O'Hara Mill pioneer Homestead.

My first camera of any account was a Nikon F90X 35 mm with a range of lenses from 24 mm to 300 mm and shot slide film processed on a Nikon LS-2000 slide scanner, a sometimes long and tedious procedure. When My wife Pam and I decided on a three month adventure to Australia and New Zealand in the fall of 2005, I decided it was time to join the world of digital and purchased a Nikon D100 and an Epson P-2000 digital storage device. I shoot mostly Raw nef format, edit in Nikon Capture 4, and send to Photoshop 7 for any any final touchups. In short, I love what I do and I do what love. Photography for the joy of it and the ability to be able to share it with the world on this great thing called the internet !!
